BARRANQUILLA CARNIVAL
Barranquilla's Carnaval (Spanish: Carnaval de Barranquilla) is Colombia's most important folklorecelebration. It is one of the biggest carnivals in the world, after Rio de Janeiro. The carnival has traditions that date back to the 19th century. Forty days before Holy Week, Barranquilla decks itself out to receive national and foreign tourists, and join together with the city's inhabitants to enjoy four days of intense festivities. During the carnival Barranquilla's normal activities are paralyzed because the city gets busy with street dances, musical and masquerade parades. Barranquilla´s Carnival includes dances like the Spanish paloteo, African congoand indigenous mico y micas. Many styles of Colombian music are also performed, most prominently cumbia, and instruments include drums and wind ensembles
the battle of flowers.The Battle of Flowers is the most important festivalof the Cantabrian town of Laredo, Spain. Held thelast Friday in August from the year 1908 anddeclared of National Tourist Interest since 1965. A procession of floats whose frames are decoratedwith flowers and natural petals, forming allegorical,during which a jury returns a classificationdesignating one as the winner. Throughout the dayare organized in the village pejina street markets,and several bands and brass bands play musicthroughout the city, culminating with a fireworksdisplayed over the bay where the town is nestled.Is a party that since its inception has been noted for its brilliant combination of entertainment andartistic reasons.
Parade Parade
